Ciesla, Wolfe & Holzapfel Announce Extended Deadline for Filing Property Tax Rebate Applications

The legislators from the 10th District have announced that the State of New Jersey has extended the deadline for filing property tax rebate applications. Residents who have not filed their 2007 Homestead Rebate or Senior Freeze (Property Tax Reimbursement Program) applications by the original August 15 deadline will now have until October 31, 2008 to do so.

Ciesla/Wolfe/Holzapfel Call Upon Committees to Consider Anti-Dog Chaining Laws

Senator Andy Ciesla and Assemblymen Dave Wolfe and Jim Holzapfel (all R-10), have called on Senate Economic Growth Committee Chairman Raymond Lesniak and Assembly Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee Chairman Douglas Fisher to hold a hearing on anti-dog chaining legislation which they have sponsored. The bill, S-835/A-902, establishes animal cruelty offenses pertaining to the chaining or cruel restraint of animals.

Ciesla Calls for Special Session to Discuss Transportation Programs

Says NJ Must Act Quickly to Provide Mass Transportation Alternatives

Senator Andy Ciesla (R-10) today called on Governor Jon S. Corzine and Senate President Dick Codey to convene a special session of the Legislature this summer to address critical transportation issues, including the rapid development and implementation of mass transportation alternatives. Ciesla, a 17-year member and former chairman of the Senate Transportation Committee, stated his concerns and request for the special session in a letter delivered today to Corzine and Codey.

Ciesla & Bateman: DEP Makes the Right Decision to Allow Outside Professionals to Shoulder Some of the Workload

Senators Andy Ciesla and Christopher (Kip) Bateman, members of the Senate Environment Committee, issued the following statement regarding proposed changes to the Department of Environmental Protection’s contaminated sites cleanup process. The change would allow highly trained environmental site managers to oversee the cleanup of contaminated sites throughout the state. DEP has a current backlog of over 20, 000 cases and only about 150 case managers.

Ciesla, Wolfe & Holzapfel Introduce Legislation on Public Access and Marina Safety

The 10th District legislators have introduced legislation in response to proposed changes to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s (DEP) coastal development regulations concerning marinas. These changes to the Coastal Zone Management (CZM) rules would require private marinas to provide open, 24- hour public access to waterways throughout their property.
